NASHVILLE, Tenn.- Centre men's lacrosse remained in Nashville to round out their play in the Music City Classic. Taking on Illinois Wesleyan, the Colonels fell by a score of 17-10, moving to a 1-2 overall record.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS

David Caldwell got the game going, netting the first goal with the help of
Ryan Black. The Titans evened the score, but Caldwell answered to return the lead to Centre.
Max Speers joined the scoring column with next goal. Illinois Wesleyan closed the first period with a man-up goal in the final minute, adjusting the score to 3-2, Centre favoring.
- The Titans owned the second quarter, taking the lead after blanking the Colonels 6-0. Entering the halftime break, Illinois Wesleyan led 8-3.
- The Titans quickly initiated the second half with a goal 30 seconds in.
David Caldwell claimed a hat trick with the next score, simultaneously ending the Colonels' quarter long scoring drought. Caldwell tallied the next point with the assist from
Nick Witcher, but the Titans answered with a 3-0 scoring run to close the period.
- Centre opened the final period with three successive goals, the first from
Ben Hubbs, the second
Graysen Jolly from Speers, and the third from Caldwell with the helper from Jolly. The Titans broke the Colonels' stretch with a 5-0 run to return the deficit to nine. Hubbs closed the game's scoring with two back-to-back, finalizing the score at 17-10, the Titans favoring.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Caldwell led Centre in goals with five. Hubbs followed with three while Jolly, and Speers netted one each.
- Speers led the team in assists with two. Jolly, Black, and Witcher each helped one.
- Caldwell,
Gunnar Dykes, and
Mac Shafer tied for the Colonels' leader in groundballs, scooping two each.
- In goal,
Sammy Zickel and
Devin Melton split time, together the two tallied 14 saves and led Centre to 20-24 clears.
