DANVILLE, Ky. - Centre men's tennis hosted the NAIA's no. 16 ranked University of the Cumberlands Patriots and fell 7-0 on a rainy Saturday.
The Colonels fell to 4-3 in the spring season, while Cumberlands moved to 8-6.
Dylan Dethridge and
Emilo Ventura Ramirez, the no. 2 pair, won the most games of any Gold & White pairing as they took a 6-4 loss to Gabriele Solda and Darius Kuster.
The top duo of
Ty Bush and
Ben Rueff fell 6-3 to Juanchi Alcon and Liam Savio and no. 3 pair
Isaac Flanery and
Jett Anderson lost 6-2 to Manuel Fernandez Guede and Sampras Rakotondrainibe.
The top singles contest featured the most competitive opening set. Rueff lost in a close 7-6, 6-2 bout with Savio.
Ty Bush, in the second-ranked match, won the second most games of any Colonel in his 6-3, 6-4 loss to Alcon.
Chase Turley won the next most games in a 6-3, 6-3 setback to Rakotondrainibe in the no. 5 match.
Anderson Gosnell fell 6-1, 6-2 to Luis Marcos in the no. 3 match.
Emerson Dean lost 6-1, 6-1 to Solda in the fourth-ranked match and
William Howell fell 6-1, 6-0 to Vivier Thibaud in the low match.
