DANVILLE, Ky.- On Sunday afternoon, the Centre men's lacrosse team hosted Capital in a non-conference game. Leading from the start, the Colonels possessed six different scorers in their 16-3 victory, improving to a 4-4 record on the season.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS
- The Colonels dominated from the start, opening with two unanswered goals.
David Caldwell initiated game six minutes in with the help of
Max Speers. Speers later netted his own goal before Capital cut the deficit with their first point. Caldwell closed the period with the feed from
Graysen Jolly, bringing the score to 3-1 entering the next period.
- The Colonels blanked the Comets 6-0 in the second frame. Speers opened the run with the helper form
Noah Malubay. Caldwell found the back of the net next, simultaneously clinching the hat trick.
Nick Witcher was the next Colonel in the scoring column and by the end of the half,
Miguel Sayers and Jolly both joined him there. Entering the break, Centre led 9-1.
- Jolly continued the Colonels' run into the second half as he and Caldwell netted a pair of unbroken goals to open the third period. The Comets were the next team to find the back of the net, but Centre quickly answered. The game's first penalty was called on the Colonels, but Caldwell capitalized to score a man-down goal with the help of Malubay. Jolly netted the next point and then assisted
Jack Cunningham's first goal of the season. Caldwell closed the quarter, answering the Comets' final goal of the game and moving the score to 15-3.
- Speers tallied the only point scored in the fourth and when regulation ran out, the score was set at Centre 16, Capital three.
INSIDE THE BOX SCOR
- Caldwell led the game in both points and goals. The senior scored six and assisted one for seven total points. Speers followed with four goals and two assists while Jolly netted three and helped two.

Patrick Tatro led the game in ground balls with a career high of eight.

Mac Shafer,
Max Moldenhauer, and
Gunnar Dykes tied for the game's leader in caused turnovers, each forcing three.
- In the crease,
Devin Melton and
Sammy Zickel split time. Together the two tallied nine saves with just three goals allowed.
- Centre went 16-21 on clears.
- The Colonels favored in ground balls (36-26), shots (45-26), and caused turnovers (12-7).
