Box Score DANVILLE, Ky. - Centre men's tennis took on Piedmont in midweek action and the Colonels came away with a 4-1 win by decision on Wednesday evening.
The Colonels earned the doubles point with two pairs winning. Dylan Dethridge and Ty Bush moved to a perfect 4-0 on the season as they took down Simon Johnstone and Yannick Wassmer Navarro 6-3 in the top duos competition. Ben Rueff and Chase Turley won the no. 2 match, their first victory together of 2025, with a 6-3 tally over Leyton Dunn and Bryce VanOrder.
Jett Anderson and Jasper Gazzo fell in the third-seeded match 6-2 to Mark Backeberg and Rohan Kavali.
Rueff won in the top match 6-4, 0-6, 6-1 over Navarro in three sets. Ty Bush won over VanOrder 6-1, 7-6 (11-9) in the second-seeded contest. Anderson Gosnell fell 6-3, 6-0 in the no. 6 contest to Jace Goode. Dethridge won his seventh-straight match with a 7-6 (7-2), 6-2 tally over Mark Backeburg.
William Howell was downed 6-0, 6-3 by Dunn in the no. 6 match.
Two singles matches did not finish. Anderson won one set but was down 3-6, 6-2, 2-3 to Rohan Kavali in the no. 4 match. Gazzo was up 4-6, 6-2, 5-2 in no. 5 action over Connor Phelps when the match was called.
