SEWANEE, Tenn.- On Saturday afternoon, the Centre men's lacrosse team traveled to Tennessee for their final game of the regular season. Facing Southern Athletic Association's (SAA) Sewanee, the Colonels fended off the Tiger's rally, winning by a score of 9-6.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS
- Centre's
Graysen Jolly initiated the game's scoring with the assist coming from
Noah Malubay. The Tigers eventually answered but
Ryan Black set up
David Caldwell to return the lead to Centre entering period two.
- The Colonels outscored the Tigers 3-1 in the second quarter.
Ryan Hall found the back of the net with the help of Black.
Max Speers entered the scoring column next before Malubay answered the Tigers' singular goal to close the half. Entering the break, Centre led 5-2.
- The Tigers opened the second half's scoring six minutes in. Two possessions later,
Nico Valentino answered with the assist from Jolly. In the final minute,
Nick Witcher joined the scoring column with the help from Caldwell just before Caldwell himself closed the quarter with an unassisted goal. Entering the final period, Centre led 8-3.
- Speers netted the quarter's first goal but from there, the Colonels fell silent. The Tigers scored three unbroken goals but when regulation ran out, the score sat at Centre nine, Sewanee six.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Caldwell and Speers tied for the game's leader in goals with two apiece. Caldwell led the game in goals after assisting Witcher.

Mac Shafer led the Colonels in ground balls with five.
- Shafer and Jolly tied for Centre's leader in caused turnovers with two each.
- In the crease,
Hayden Burns and
Sammy Zickel split time. Together the pair tallied 13 saves and led the team to 19-28 clears.
