NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - A day after pulling off an upset, the no. 5 seeded Centre men's tennis team saw its 2025 Southern Athletic Association (SAA) Tournament trip come to an end with a 4-0 semifinal setback to top seed Sewanee.
Doubles action went the way of the Tigers.
Ty Bush and
Dylan Dethridge fell 6-2 to Jordan Theron and Quinn Wicklund in the battle of the top pairings.
Isaac Flanery and
Emerson Dean fell 6-0 in the no. 3 match versus Talman Ramsey and Gil Weston.
Ben Rueff and
Chase Turley were tied 4-4 with Andre Jakobi and Ben Lammert in the second seeded match when doubles play was called.
Singles action saw the no. 2 match finish first. Bush dropped a 6-1, 6-3 decision to Jakobi. The next contest to wrap up was the top seeded match. Rueff lost 6-1, 6-1 to Theron in that battle. The last singles match to be completed was the no. 5 match, which saw
Jett Anderson fall 6-0, 6-2 to Ramsey.
Three solo contests were left unfinished. In no. 3 action Dethridge was down 6-1, 4-3 to Lammert as the match wrapped. Flanery was behind 6-4, 3-2 to Wicklund in the no. 4 match when play was called.
Jasper Gazzo was trailing 7-5, 1-0 to Weston in the sixth-seeded match when the match was halted.
