Danville, KY - Centre Men's Tennis welcomed Division I Northern Kentucky University to Danville for a match on Wednesday afternoon. The Norse proved too much in a 7-0 sweep of the Colonels.
NKU started the day with a 6-0 win in #2 doubles over
Jack Gessner and
Ben Rueff. The Colonels even the doubles score up with a 7-5 win in #3 doubles thanks to
Isaac Flanery and
Chase Turley. NKU came out on top though thanks to a 7-6 (4) tiebreak win over
Ty Bush and
Dylan Dethridge in #1 doubles to take the team point.
In singles action, Centre rested a few key players ahead of the weekend's conference matches. NKU took advantage by sweeping all six singles matches.
Emilio Ventura Ramirez did force his #5 singles match to a tiebreak, but he was on the short end of the score.
The Colonels now focus on a big SAA weekend starting on Saturday against Trinity at 9:00am.
