BEREA, Ky. - The Centre volleyball team improved to 7-2 on the year as the Colonels made quick work of the Berea Mountaineers, winning in straight sets to increase their win streak to five games.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS
- In the opening set the Colonels scored ten unanswered points to break things open after falling behind early. Centre eventually won 25-13 after an ace by
Madi Winfield provided the final point.
- The second set played out in similar fashion as Centre scored six in a row to take a 20-10 lead and then scored the final five points in a row to close out another 25-13 victory with
Mady Mardock delivering the clinching kill.
- The third set was the closest of the match on the scoreboard, but the Colonels also hit their highest percentage of the match in the third set, hitting .412 as a team.
Ella Cox and
Maya Kondik had the final two kills as Centre wrapped up the victory with a 25-18 win.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Centre hit .317 for the match while allowing just .034 from Berea.
Kendra Christopher led all players with 11 kills, with
Hollye Tate and
Syd Bietz each finishing with ten kills.
- The Colonels had a season high 13 aces on the night, led by Winfield and Bietz with five each. Winfield also finished with 37 assists to lead all players.
- Centre held a 55-32 advantage in digs, led by a career high 15 from Christopher, the only player on either side to finish in double digits in digs.

Centre volleyball will head to Texas to begin conference play with a round robin tournament at Trinity this weekend, starting with a Saturday doubleheader against Rhodes and Trinity.
