MOUNT BERRY, Ga. - The Centre volleyball team played the third and final game of the Southern Athletic Association Mega Pod at Berry on Sunday, where they fell to the Southwestern Pirates in straight sets.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS
- The opening set was a close one all the way, featuring multiple lead changes and ties with neither team leading by more than four points. The Pirates held a small lead in the late stages and held on for a 25-22 victory.
- In the second set, the Colonels played well early on, jumping out to a 9-3 lead. Southwestern slowly chipped away at the lead and took the advantage following a 12-3 spurt that put them ahead for good as they eventually won by a score of 25-19.
- The Pirates scored the first four points of the third set and led for the duration as the Colonels never got closer than two points, with Southwestern winning the match with a 25-18 score.

Kendra Christopher was the only player on either side to finish in double digits in digs, leading all players with 14.
