2/14/2026 8:37:00 PM

Box Score Danville, KY - After promising results in fall action, Centre Men's Tennis started the spring season with a commanding 6-0 win over future-SAA opponent, Maryville on Saturday.

The doubles were led off by the duo of Jack Gessner and Ben Rueff, who rolled to a 6-2 win. Centre then clinched the doubles team point thanks to a 6-2 win in second singles from Ty Bush and Dylan Dethridge. For good measure, Isaac Flannery and Chase Turley took #3 singles, 6-1.

In top singles, Dylan Dethridge needed the distance and then some for a win. He dropped the opening set, 4-6, before winning the 2nd, 7-5. In the 3rd, Dethridge needed a lengthy tiebreak, but ultimately prevailed, 10-7, in the break to get the 3-set win. The other 5 singles matches proved much more comfortable for the Colonels. Isaac Flanery cruised in second singles, 6-1, 6-3. Tejas Ahuja took the win in 3rd singles. 6-3, 6-2. Chase Turley went 2-for-2 on the day with a 6-4, 6-1 win in #4 singles. Jack Gessner did the same in fifth singles, 6-3, 6-4. Anderson Gosnell left no doubt in #6 singles as he rolled, 6-0, 6-2.

Centre looks to keep it going on Sunday with an afternoon matchup against Transylvania, starting at 3:00pm at the Seabury Family Tennis Centre in Danville.
