Danville, KY - On a night that took over 5 hours to complete, Centre Men's Tennis pushed hard against #13 Kenyon but ultimately came up short, 6-1.
In doubles, Centre quickly fell behind as Kenyon won both the #2 and #3 matches to clinch the team point. Centre's top tandem of
Ty Bush and
Dylan Dethridge pushed their opponents to the limit but also fell 6-7 in a tiebreak.
In singles,
Ben Rueff picked up the Colonels' lone win on the night as he pulled out a win in #3 singles, 6-2, 5-7, 6-4.
Tejas Ahuja went to a super tiebreak in the 3rd set of his singles match, but he came up short, 4-10.
Dylan Dethridge went off in #1 singles and again pushed his opponent as each side won a set 7-6, but Kenyon came out on top with a 6-2 win in the 3rd.
Ty Bush fell in straight sets in #2 singles, 6-3, 6-4.
Isaac Flanery and
Chase Turley also lost in straight sets.
The Colonels will look to rebound Saturday morning when 33rd-ranked Washington and Lee comes to Danville for a matinee matchup. The action at the Seabury Family Tennis Center starts at 11:00am.
