Pinehurst, NC - Centre Women's Golf kicked off the spring season with a unique opportunity to host a 12-team field at the legendary Pinehurst Resort & Country Club in Pinehurst, NC on Saturday. On course #1, the Colonels placed 7th after day 2 of the 2-day event.

The 6 teams above Centre in the standings are all ranked nationally inside the top-50, including #2 Carnegie Mellon, #7 WashU, and #19 Trinity. The young Colonels will look to build on the experience of day 1 as the finale on Saturday gets underway, with a tee time at 9:36 am.

Final round ended with Janie Morgan improving her score from yesterday to shoot the lwo round for the Colonels with an 82, placing 29th on the overall leaderboard. Ceci Coccia and Emerson Vaughn both shot 85, with Ceci placing 35th and Emerson placing 42nd overall. 

Freshman Nithya Nunna, who had a good round one, had a rough start today, shooting Boogie on the first five holes and a stream on the back 9, only shooting par on the 11th and 16th holes, ending with an 88 final score to place 33rd. Ellie Roof showed improvement, shooting a birdie on the 12th, finishing with an 86. 

Colonels have a two-week break before traveling to the Westbrook Invitational, march 7th through the 8th.
