Dickson, TN - The SAA Championship for Women's Golf finalized today as the Centre Women's Golf Team placed 4th out of the 8 teams competing.
The final round proved challenging, as each golfer faced their own struggles on the course.
Ceci Coccia had a consistent round, finishing with a 76 on the day, bringing her overall total to +24. Her consistent play across the 18 holes helped her maintain a steady performance, and she ended strong on the back nine.
Emerson Vaughn had a slightly tougher day, posting a 78 (+6) for the final round, bringing her overall total to +27. Despite struggling on the front nine, she managed to regain some control in the back half of her round.
Ellie Roof faced similar difficulties, finishing with an 80 (+8) for the day and an overall total of +17. She started strong but couldn't quite maintain the pace through the back nine, leading to a higher score.
Nithya Nunna also had a challenging final round, scoring 81 (+9), but her overall total of +13 showed her strong performance throughout the tournament despite the rough finish.
Grace Vernon struggled the most in Round 3, with an 83 (+11) for the day, bringing her overall score to +40. She fought through the round despite the tough conditions.
Finally, Janie Morgan had the toughest day of all, posting an 89 (+17) in the final round, resulting in an overall total of +34. The Colonels as a team managed to place fourth overall, Coach Knudsen said: "She is glad for the fourth-place finish as this is a rebuilding year, the team has grown so much from August to now. And this is good momentum for leading into next year."
