Box Score Louisville, KY - Centre Men's Tennis stepped up in competition on Saturday as the Colonels went to Louisville to take on Division I Bellarmine. The Colonels fought hard but came away with a 6-1 loss.
In doubles,
Ty Bush and
Dylan Dethridge were paired up in the top spot once more but were beaten by the Knights' 1 duo, 6-0.
Ben Rueff and
Jack Gessner were paired in second doubles but were beaten 3-6 to clinch the doubles point for Bellarmine.
In singles, Bush was beaten in #1 singles, 2-6, 2-6. Dethridge took the opening set 7-6 (5) in second singles but could not finish off the win. He fell in the second set, 3-6, and 0-6 in the 3rd as Bellarmine took a 3-0 lead on the day. The Knights clinched the team win in 3rd singles as
Ben Rueff fell 2-6, 3-6.
Isaac Flanery pushed to a tiebreak in the opener of 4th singles but ultimately fell in straight sets, as did
Tejas Ahuja in 5th singles. Centre's only point of the day came in a walkover in #6 singles.
Centre now turns its focus to the SAA and a tough matchup with Sewanee next Saturday at 10:00am in Danville.
