Box Score Mount Berry, GA - For the second time in as many days, Centre Women's Tennis went on the road in the SAA and swept its opponent. This time, Berry was on the wrong end as Centre locked up a spot in the upcoming SAA Tournament with a 7-0 win.
In doubles, the #1 team of
Kennedy Herring and
Natalie Black were in a grind but came out with a 7-5 win.
Grace Williams and
Carlie Mitchell were together as usual in #2 doubles and had a much easier go with a 6-1 win.
Shelby Franklin and
Olivia Watson linked up in third doubles and also rolled to a 6-1 win to lock up the team point.
The beat marched on when singles play began.
Grace Williams took down the #1 for Berry in a 7-5, 6-3 win.
Kennedy Herring had a simliar result in second singles, 6-2, 7-5.
Carlie Mitchell had the toughest matchup of the day in third singles. She won the first set 7-6 (5), dropped the second set, before bouncing back with a 10-6 win in the third.
Carrie Foster rolled to a 6-2, 6-1 win in #4 singles.
Shelby Franklin and
Sara Dunn also cruised to straight set wins to complete a 14-0 weekend in Georgia.
The Colonels now take a bye week and will await other results to find out their opponent in the opening round of the SAA Tournament, starting on April 24.
