Memphis, TN - Fresh off a sweep of Millsaps on Saturday, Centre Women's Tennis looked to continue the momentum on Easter Sunday at Rhodes. It was not meant to be as the Lynx took the day over the Colonels, 5-2.
Olivia Watson and
Shelby Franklin won in #3 doubles, 6-3, to even up the doubles standings, but Rhodes won a lengthy match in #1 doubles over
Natalie Black and
Kennedy Herring, 7-5, to claim the point.
In singles, Rhodes won the top 3 singles matches in straight sets.
Shelby Franklin pushed her opponent to a tiebreak in #4 singles but fell short.
Carrie Foster got Centre in the win column as she cruised in #5 singles to a 6-2, 6-2 win.
Sara Dunn did the same in #6 singles as she took down her opponent, 6-1, 6-3.
Centre stays on the road next Saturday as the Colonels battle Oglethorpe in a critical SAA matchup. The action from Atlanta starts at 11:00am.
