Box Score DANVILLE, Ky. – Madison Marcum knocked down a program-record seven 3-pointers Friday evening, helping the Colonels rout visiting Berry, 77-61, in Southern Athletic Association action inside Alumni Gymnasium.
Centre (8-7, 2-2 SAA) shot a season-high 51% as a team, including a stellar 13-for-22 (59%) effort from long range.
Along with Marcum, who scored a career-best 21 points,
Rachel Jennings helped the cause by sinking all three of her 3-point tries.
Mikayla Fee recorded an 11 point, 12 rebound double-double, as well, her third of the season.
On the other end, the Colonels held Berry (7-8, 1-3) under 35% from the field and 5-for-20 from 3-point land.
The event was designated as a "Gold Out" game for the Colonels, who, in their continued partnership with UK Healthcare, helped raised money for the Kids Cancer Alliance through merchandise sales.
HIGHLIGHTS
- The two sides were locked in a 7-7 tie midway through the opening quarter.
- That's when the Colonels went off, knocking down five 3-pointers on a lengthy run across the first two frames.
- All told, Centre went on a 20-2 run and stormed into the half ahead 39-20, shooting 8 of 13 from long range and 58% overall. Marcum paced the Colonels with 12 points on four triples.
- A new half couldn't cool the Colonels, who held a 53-31 lead after consecutive 3-pointers from
Rachel Jennings toward the end of the frame.
- Trailing 59-37 heading to the fourth, the Vikings would make a late push to pull within 10, but it was far too late for a comeback attempt.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Marcum went 7-for-11 from beyond the arc to set the new mark and her personal scoring record.
- Jennings also scored a career high, netting 15 points to go with three assists and a pair of boards.

Abigail Wehby (13 points) and Fee (11) likewise finished in double figures, and Payton Herald led all players with four assists.
- Fee recorded a +/- of +20, which was a game high.
Kylee Murray's +16 and Jennings' +15 followed.
- Centre went 20-for-25 from the charity stripe, hitting its second highest number of freebies in a game this season.
