MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Centre softball began the 2025 season at the Huntingdon Round Robin and fell to Greensboro College 3-0 and Huntingdon College 8-0.
The Colonels fell to 0-2 on the season after the season-opening losses.
GAME ONE: Greensboro 3, Centre 0
- Centre's
Morgan Tabor was the first runner on base of the day as she was walked in the first with two outs on the board.
Myah Fletcher reached base on the next at-bat thanks to an error at second, but the Colonels left the inning with those two runners on base.
- In the bottom of the third a sacrifice fly scored the first of two runs for the Pride.
- Greensboro used another sacrifice fly to plate a run in the sixth frame.
- Down 3-0 entering the top of the seventh, Centre needed to rally.
Jada Challiss came in to pinch hit in the lead off spot and made it to first via a walk. Challiss remained stranded as the game finished with a 3-0 tally in favor of the Pride.

Layne Ogle got the start in the circle for the Colonels and pitched two and one third innings. She struck out two batters and allowed only one earned run.
Kennedy Caudill entered the game for the final three and two thirds innings and sat down two while allowing one earned run.
GAME TWO: Huntingdon 8, Centre 0
- Centre once again saw its first person reach base via a walk.
Myah Fletcher was the lead off who made it to first. She then moved to second via wild pitch but was left stranded at third.
- The Hawks scored the first two runs of the game using an RBI single and then a bases-loaded walk, both in the second frame. They added another run via a passed ball in the third inning.

Morgan Tabor tallied the first Colonel hit of the season with a single to left field in the top of the fourth. Unfortunately, the hit was the only one logged for Centre in the contest.
- An offensive barrage from Huntingdon in the bottom of the fourth moved the lead to 7-0 in favor of the Hawks. The Hawks then closed it out with an RBI single in the sixth securing a run-ruled 8-0 win.

Madison Mullender made her collegiate pitching debut for the Colonels in the contest. She pitched all five innings and struck out two batter.

The Huntingdon Round Robin wraps up tomorrow with two games against the same opponents. The Gold & White face Greensboro at 11 a.m. and host Huntingdon at 3 p.m.
