DANVILLE, Ky. - Centre women's tennis enjoyed a 4-3 win over visiting Randolph College on Saturday inside the friendly confines of the Seabury Family Tennis Center.
Division III schools are playing the 2024-25 season under the 7-point dual match format. The ITA and the NCAA announced the one-year, joint pilot of the scoring format in July of 2024.
The Colonels earned the doubles point after a 2-1 showing by the Centre duos.
Skylar Keesee and
Kayla Harger earned the largest win with a 6-0 showing over Maddie Mills and Gianna Cabrera in the third-seeded contest.
Grace Williams and
Gigi Gossett earned a 6-1 triumph over Emma Bauer and Fleur Gaalman in the no. 2 match.
Carlie Mitchell and
Kennedy Herring fell in a close 6-4 top-ranked match versus Lize van Veen and Lena Kersten.
In singles action, both teams earned three wins each. Williams won 7-5 and 6-4 over van Veen in the second-ranked singles bout.
Carrie Foster swept with an impressive 6-0, 6-0 victory over Mills in the no. 5 singles match.
Sara Dunn earned the win in the sixth seeded contest with a 6-0, 6-3 tally against Cabrera.
Mitchell won three games across both sets in no. 1 singles but fell to Kersten 6-2, 6-1. Herring faced a tiebreaker in the fifth slot but fell 6-2, 3-6, 5-7 to Gaalman. Harger, in the fourth slot, won at least two games each set but fell 6-3, 6-2 to Bauer.

The Colonels turn around and face Campbellsville tomorrow afternoon. Action begins at 1 p.m. on Sunday at the Seabury Family Tennis Center.
