LEXINGTON, Ky.- On Wednesday evening, the women's lacrosse team traveled up the road to face Transylvania in a mid-week clash. Although a first quarter set back, the Colonels completed a comeback for the books. Battling back from a ten-point deficit, the Centre women's lacrosse bettered their instate foe by a score of 17-15.

Catherine Zeek quickly got the game started, netting the first goal 16 seconds in off a feed from
Sophia Richardson. The Pioneers swiftly answered, scoring a pair successively in the following minute. From there, Transy set the pace, outscoring the Colonels 9-0 for the remainder of the frame.
- The second period belonged to Centre.
Addie Lewis initiated the quarter's scoring to instantly take the game out of running clock.
Ellie Macdonald owned the next goal during a woman-up opportunity after finding a feed from Richardson.
Haley Rice followed with the third unbroken goal during a free-position opportunity. As the momentum began to swing in the Colonels' direction, the Pioneers were forced to burn a timeout. Out of the break, Centre placed a trio of free-positions shots, Zeek with the first,
Audrey Haines with the second, then Rice with the last goal of the half. After blanking the Pioneers 6-0 in the frame, the score read Transy 11, Centre seven entering halftime.
- Out of the break, the Pioneers found the back of the net first but quickly fell silent. The Colonels rattled off three unbroken goals to come within two, Haines netting the first and third while Zeek placed the second. Transy answered with a pair before Ricardson closed Centre's scoring with the helper from Haines. In the final minute of the third, the Pioneers netted a woman-up goal to stretch their hold to four entering the fourth period.
- The final quarter's scoring opened with Rice on the arc, netting a free-position during a woman-up play. Four minutes later, Lewis netted two goals consecutively to cut the deficit to one. Just after,
Olivia Sweasy delivered a clutch caused turnover, allowing the Colonels to gain possession and Rice to score the tying goal. With six minutes to go, Sweasy joined the scoring column herself, handing Centre their first lead since the contest's opening minute. Rice found the back of the net for one final goal, freezing the score at Centre 17, Transylvania 15.
