DANVILLE, Ky. - Centre women's tennis shutout a third-straight foe thanks to a 7-0 win over Oglethorpe in Saturday's Southern Athletic Association (SAA) action.
The Colonels now hold a 9-6 overall record and a 3-1 SAA tally, while the Stormy Petrels dropped to 1-13 on the season and 0-5 in league action.
Centre earned the doubles point thanks to wins in the two top matches and an Oglethorpe forfeit in the third.
Grace Williams and
Carrie Foster played the top match for the Colonels in their first pairing of the season and came away with a 6-3 win over Maddie Nolen and Taylor Glover.
Sara Dunn and
Kayla Harger were another first-time pairing and won 6-0 over Grace Elsevier and Apsana Rai in the no. 2 match.
Kennedy Herring moved her solo win streak to three thanks to a 6-1, 6-2 win over Nolen in the top solo contest.
Natalie Black moved to the no. 2 spot for the first time in 2025 and won 6-2, 6-2 over Glover.
Foster and Dunn each blanked their opponents. Foster won 6-0, 6-0 over Elsevier in the no. 3 match while Dunn had the same result versus Abigail Hudson in the fifth-ranked bout.
Two more wins came for the Colonels. Harger topped Rai 6-0, 6-1 in the no. 4 match and the no. 6 contest was won by forfeit.
