DANVILLE, Ky. – Centre softball finished the weekend's Southern Athletic Association (SAA) series with Millsaps with a 2-0 setback to the Majors.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Millsaps struck first in the contest. A single and a walk in the first inning put the runner in place that scored the game's first run via an error.
- The Colonels had one runner reach first in the opening frame. An
Aleiah Branin walk placed the freshman at first before she stole second. She was unfortunately left stranded.
- A solo home run for the Majors in the top of the fourth moved the lead to 2-0 for the visiting team.
-
Emily Lammers notched the first Gold & White hit of the game in the fifth inning. She led off the frame with a single to center.
- The last hit for Centre came in the bottom of the seventh courtesy of a single from
Morgan Tabor.
-
Kennedy Caudill was the starting pitcher for the Colonels and went a full three innings. She struck out three batters and allowed just one hit and no earned runs. It marks the fourt time this season that she has allowed only one hit.
Katherine Weller went the final four innings in the circle and struck out two and allowed only one run.
