Women's golf finishes fourth at Win Palmer Cup

SEWICKLEY, Pa.- On Tuesday, the Colonels returned to the Allegheny Country Club to round out their play in the Win Palmer Cup hosted by Wittenberg University. After 36-holes, the Centre women's golf team placed fourth overall with a combined team score of 630 (310-320). 

Carnegie Mellon held firm to finish first overall with a score of 612. Rhodes took second with a team mark of 623 while Denison rounded out the top three with a score of 625.

Grace Walker made a jump up the individual leader board, landing in a tie for seventh with a final score of 157 (76-81). 

Anika Rana also placed within the field's top ten athletes. Finishing with a final score of 158 (78-80), the senior tied for tenth out of the 47 competitors. 

Janie Morgan held firm in her round one positioning, finishing in a tie for 14th with a combined mark of 161 (81-80). 

Ellie Roof and Emily Warner ended their 36-holes in a tie for 17th, Roof with a score of 162 (75-87) and Warner with a 162 (83-79).

Grace Vernon rounded out Centre's line-up, placing 39th outright with a score of 186 (95-91).
 
MONDAY RECAP
 On Monday, the No. 16 Centre women's golf team opened their play in the 2025 Win Palmer Cup, hosted by Wittenberg University. After 18-holes, the Colonels rest in third with a team score of 310. 

Carnegie Mellon sits in first with a combined mark of 297 while Denison rests in second with a team score of 302.

Ellie Roof led the Colonels through round one to land in a tie for fifth on the individual leaderboard. Shooting no worse than a bogey on any hole, the sophomore finished four over with a day one score of 75.

Grace Walker followed just after Roof, finishing her first round with a mark of 76 to land in a tie for ninth.

Anika Rana presently holds 16th outright with mark of 78. The senior balanced out a trio of bogeys with three birdies to finish eight over par in day one. 

Janie Morgan was the final Colonel to crack the top 20. The junior landed in a tie for 20th with a first-round score of 81. 

Rounding out Centre's line-up, Emily Warner sits in a tie for 25th with a mark of 83 while Grace Vernon rests in 41st with a score of 95.

UP NEXT 
Centre women's golf will return to action in the Southern Athletic Association (SAA) Championship Tournament. They'll open their play on April 25th with the hopes of clinching their fifth straight SAA title.
