Women's lacrosse recognized with multiple All-SAA honors

ATLANTA – On Thursday afternoon, the Southern Athletic Association (SAA) released its yearly All-Conference awards for the current season. After their 2025 regular season campaign, the Centre women's lacrosse team (7-8, 2-3 SAA) was recognized with multiple student-athlete awards. 
 
Representing Centre on First Team All-SAA are Sophia Richardson and Haley Rice
 
In her sophomore season with the Colonels, Richardson tallied 18 goals, ten assists, 24 ground balls, 18 caused turnovers, and 21 draw controls. The Kentucky native led the team in both assists and caused turnovers while also ranking in the team's top three for points and ground balls.
Rice also found herself on the First Team All-SAA roster. In her final season, Rice led the team in goals, game winning goals, ground balls, and draw controls. Within the league, the Colonel ranked in the top 5 for goals per game, points per game, and ground balls per game. Before heading into the SAA tournament, the senior, has scored 51 goals, assisted nine, scooped 42 ground balls, caused 10 turnovers, took 45 off the draw control, and scored three game winning goals. 

Addie Lewis and Elizabeth Mitchell represented Centre on the Second Team All-SAA roster. In her final campaign, Lewis ranked in Centre's top five for goals, assists, points, caused turnovers and draw controls. So far this season, the senior has racked up 20 goals, eight assists, 12 ground balls, 13 caused turnovers, and 37 draw controls. 
Making her debut on an All- SAA roster with Centre, Mitchell conducted the Colonels' defense, ranking in the top three for her numbers in caused turnovers (17) and ground balls (35). 
 
The Gold & White garnered two more honors in the All-SAA Honorable Mentions list, Catherine Zeek and goalie, Mary HaleyIn her first season with the Colonels, Zeek tallied 20 goals, four assists, and registered a .694 shot on goal percentage. In goal, Haley registered 800 minutes, tallied 121 saves, and led the Colonels to an .825 clear percentage.

Centre women's lacrosse will enter the SAA Conference Tournament on Apr. 25th where they'll face Oglethorpe in the quarterfinals.
