NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - Centre women's tennis saw the season come to an end in the 2025 Southern Athletic Association (SAA) Tournament as the no. 4 seeded Colonels fell to the top seed Sewanee Tigers 4-0 in the semifinal round.
Doubles action saw five total games won by the Gold & White. Two pairs finished before the point was awarded to Sewanee.
Natalie Black and
Kennedy Herring fell in the top match 6-2 to Ansley Carpenter and Brooke Despriet.
Kayla Harger and
Carrie Foster were dropped 6-0 by Mariella Congeni and Sarah Livingston in the no. 3 match.
Grace Williams and
Carlie Mitchell were tied 3-3 in the no. 2 match with Ivy Wilson and Emma Caldwell when that portion of the match was called.
Three singles matches finished before the match was called by decision. Despriet won 6-0, 6-3 over Black in the no. 4 match, which was the first to finish. The next match to reach completion was the sixth-seeded contest where
Sara Dunn fell 6-1, 6-0 to Caldwell. The final completed match was the no. 2 contest in which Mitchell was setback 6-0, 6-0 to Livingston.
The other three matches were not finished. Williams was behind 6-3, 2-0 to Carpenter in the no. 1 match, Herring was trailing 6-4, 3-0 to Congeni in the no. 3 contest, and Foster was behind 6-2, 2-1 to Wilson in the no. 5 battle.
WRAPPING UP
The Gold & White finished the year with a 10-9 overall record and a 3-3 SAA mark.
