DICKSON, Tenn.- On Sunday morning, Centre women's golf began their play in the final round of the 2025 SAA Championships. Opening the day in second, the Colonels held firm, finishing second overall with a team score of 901 (293-307-301).
Rhodes College won the SAA Championships with a score of 900 while Sewanee took third with a score 946.
At tournament's end, the Colonels continued to pace the field as the top performing team in par 3 play, par 5 play, and total pars.
Grace Walker led the Colonels, placing fifth individually with a score of 221 (72-75-74). At the end of her play, Walker ranked in the top ten of every statistical category, notably leading the entire field for her par 3 performances.
Anika Rana joined Walker in the top ten, tying for sixth individually with a final mark of 223 (73-78-72). At the end of her play, Rana finished second on the par individual leaderboard with a grand total of 40 pars.
Janie Morgan was the final Colonel in the top ten. The junior bettered her round two score by seven strokes in day three, finishing with a score of 230 (69-84-77) and a tenth-place finish.
Emily Warner and
Grace Vernon shared the tie for 12
th with matching final scores of 237, Warner with 79-77-81and Vernon with 79-80-78.
Ellie Roof rounded out the Colonels' line-up, tying for 15
th with a completed score of 238 (83-77-78).
SATURDAY RECAP
Centre women's golf returned to the Greystone Golf Club to continue their play in the SAA Championships. Facing their second set of 18-holes, the Colonels fell to second place with a team score of 600 (293-307).
After round two, the Colonels, as a team, still rank first in par 3s, par 4s, par 5s, and total pars.
Rhodes currently rests first place with a score of 596 while Sewanee holds firm in third with a score of 630.
Grace Walker improved to first within Centre's roster, finishing day two with a completed mark of 147 (72-75). The senior currently ranks second on the par 3 leaderboard and fourth individually on the tournament leaderboard.
Anika Rana shot no worse than a bogey in her second round. The senior put together a score of 151 (73-78) to rest in eighth ahead of round three.
Janie Morgan found trouble on her back nine but tallied seven pars on her from nine to finish with a round score of 84. Entering round three, the junior rests in ninth with a score of 153 (69-84).
Emily Warner was the only Colonel to improve between her two rounds of play, finishing day two with a combined score of 156 (79-77). Entering her final round of the Championships, Warner rests in a tie for 11
th.
Rounding out the Colonels' line-up,
Grace Vernon shot a 158 (70-80) to land in 16
th place while
Ellie Roof improved one seed to sit in a tie for 17
th.
FRIDAY RECAP
On Friday morning, Centre women's golf entered round one of the 2025 Southern Athletic Association (SAA) Conference Championships in the hopes of winning their fifth straight title. With an impressive day one showing, the Colonels rest in first place as a team with a score of 293, adding a first-place individual athlete in
Janie Morgan.
As a team, the Gold & White are dominating, topping every statistical category.
Rhodes rests in second with a team score of 297 while Sewanee rounds out the top three with a combined mark of 313.
Janie Morgan is dominating the field, tying for first individually with an opening score of 69. Finishing three under par, the junior currently ranks first on the par 4, par 5, and birdie leaderboard.
Grace Walker presently ranks third outright and in the top five individually on the par 3, par 4, and birdie leaderboards. The senior balanced out a quad of bogeys with an equal number of birdies to finish day one with an even par score of 72
Anika Rana rests in fourth and leads the championships for total pars with 15. The senior shot no worse than a bogey on any hole to finish just one over with a score of 73. Rana rest in the top five for her play on par 3, par, 4, and par 5 holes.
Emily Warner and
Grace Vernon share a tie for 14
th with first round scores of 79. Warner tied for fifth on the birdie leaderboard with a total of three.
Rounding out Centre's line up,
Ellie Roof rests in a tie for 18
th with a score of 83.
