CONWAY, Ark. – Centre softball earned the squad's first Southern Athletic Association (SAA) win of the year with a 5-4 showing over Hendrix on Monday afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Warriors used an RBI single and a bases-loaded walk to go up 2-0 in the first inning of play.
- In the second frame the Colonels evened things up.
Myah Fletcher reached on a fielder's choice that put the second out on the board.
Cheney Floyd was next and walked.
Regan Brownley then hit a single and an error by the right fielder allowed Floyd and Fletcher to score.
- Hendrix moved back into the lead right after with an RBI double.
- The top of the fourth did not look promising for Centre as the first two batters made for quick outs, but a rally started immediately after. A walk from Floyd and a Brownley single allowed
Kira Mashburn to earn an RBI double.
- With the game tied,
Caroline Unruh hit a two-RBI single to move the lead to 5-3 for the Colonels.
- The Warriors added a run in the bottom of the fourth, but no more runs came home for either team for the final three innings.
- Mashburn led the Gold & White with a career-high three hits in a 3-for-4 performance. Unruh and Brownley led the team in RBI with two each.

Madison Mullender got the pitching start for Centre and went four complete innings.
Ashley Howard hurled the final three frames and allowed no runs on three hits in her win.
