DANVILLE, Ky. - The Centre softball team began its final series of the regular season against the Rhodes Lynx. Heavy rains forced the game to be called after six full innings as the Lynx won by a score of 11-5.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS
- The opening innings belonged to the Lynx as they opened up an 8-0 lead through the first four frames, capped off by a five-run fourth.
- In Centre's half of the fourth, the Colonels put two runners on as
Madalyn Irwin reached on an error and
Morgan Tabor walked, leading to a three-run homer by
Cheney Floyd to put a dent into the deficit.
- After Rhodes scored three times in the top of the fifth, Centre answered back.
Aleiah Branin and
Kira Mashburn got on with bunt singles and
Layne Ogle drove one in with a double. A sacrifice bunt by Irwin brought in Mashburn to make it an 11-5 game, but those were the final runs scored by either team on the day.

- Floyd tied for a game high with three RBIs after her home run in the fourth.
