DANVILLE, Ky. – Earlier today Centre women's soccer announced the hiring of 2022 Centre alumnus Jean-Karlo Gonzalez as the program's new assistant coach.

"The program is very excited to welcome JK back to Centre," said head coach Jay Hoffman '96. "During his time at Centre, JK always took a strong interest in our program, our camps, and learning the about our culture.  I am thrilled that he wants to now be a part of it."

Gonzalez returns to his alma mater following three years as the assistant men's soccer coach at Georgetown College in Kentucky, where he designed practice plans and implemented a strength training program. He has also served in several roles at Lexington Sporting Club, coaching the U23 Division in 2025.

"I know JK is committed to growing our program both on and off the field," Hoffman added. "He has a wealth of knowledge and is very passionate about the game.  These two qualities are contagious.  I know his passion will continue to inspire our players."

As a player from 2018-21, Gonzalez was part of one of the most successful eras of Centre men's soccer as he played on three Southern Athletic Association championship teams, including the 2019 squad that advanced to the program's lone NCAA Final Four.

"One of our pillars for the program is to not get outworked," Hoffman concluded. "Everything I know about JK is that he is ready to live up to that pillar and do what it takes to ensure success both on and off the field."

Centre women's soccer will kick off the 2025 season on Aug. 29 with a home game against Covenant.
