WHITEWATER, Wisc. - Centre women's golf is halfway through with the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Fall Invite after playing the first 18 holes today. Facing some of the top teams in the area and a course that beat up on all of them today, the Colonels sit in a tie for sixth place at the halfway point.
The Colonels finished with a combined team score of 332 as all but one team finished over 300 today. That score was good enough to tie them with Carthage in sixth place. Centre sits four shots ahead of Adrian and seven shots back of traditional power Illinois Wesleyan.
Individually, the Colonels had two players land in the overall top 20 in round 1. Rookie
Ceci Coccia was the low scorer for Centre as she finished with a round of 79, capped off with a birdie on the par 5 seventh hole to land in 12th place overall.
Janie Morgan finished one shot behind Coccia with a round of 80, putting her in 16th place overall.
