Orlando, FL - Centre Women's Tennis bounced back on day 2 of the team's trip to Florida with a convincing 5-2 win over Luther College.
The #2 doubles team of
Kennedy Herring and
Olivia Watson pulled the first win of the day for the Colonels as they won their match, 6-3.
Natalie Black and
Karenna Thurman then clinched the team point in #3 doubles with a 6-2 triumph. For good measure, the Centre #1 team of
Grace Williams and
Carlie Mitchell won their match 7-6 (4) for the clean sweep. Centre also won 3 exhibition doubles matches over Luther on the day.
When the switch was made to singles,
Shelby Franklin gave Centre a 2-0 lead with a 6-2, 6-3 win in #5 singles.
Kennedy Herring fell in #2 singles next in a tiebreak as Luther got on the board.
Carlie Mitchell made it a 3-1 overall lead for the Colonels as she returned to the court with a 7-5, 6-4 victory in #3 singles.

Grace Williams clinched the day for the Colonels as she rolled to a 6-4, 6-3 win in the top spot.
Carrie Foster added a 6-2, 7-5 win in #4 singles to solidify the victory.
The Colonels continue the stay in Orlando on Monday with a matchup against St. Lawrence University.
