Kennedy Caudill has been named the Southern Athletic Association Softball Pitcher of the Week, as announced by conference officials on Monday.
In Centre's 11-3 win over Sewanee on Friday, Caudill pitched a complete 5-inning game. She allowed just 4 hits and 2 earned runs while striking out 4 on 100 pitches. She also helped her own cause at the plate by going 2-3 with 2 runs scored to lead the Colonels to their first SAA win of the season.
In Saturday's series finale, Caudill pitched the final 4 innings of Centre's 6-3 win to secure the sweep of Sewanee. She only allowed 1 hit and 1 run while striking out 5 on an efficient 74 pitches. She improved her record to 6-2 on the season.
Caudill and the Colonels now get set for a big home series against Berry. Game 1 starts at 1:00pm on Saturday at the Centre Softball Field. Game 2 follows on Saturday with the series finale on Sunday at Noon.
