Hall of Fame
A defensive standout for Centre football, Hay started the first game of his first season and was a permanent fixture with the linebacking corps for the next four years. Hay led the Colonels in tackles for three seasons in a row and was the top tackler in the SCAC for two straight years, finishing with over 400 stops for his career to rank in the top ten in SCAC history. He holds the Centre record with 25 solo tackles in a game, the second most by any SCAC player in any game. Hay was named a First Team All-American by D3football.com and Lindy's College Football Magazine. A three-time All-SCAC and two-time All-Region selection, Hay was named conference Defensive Player of the Week five times in his career and was selected to the league's 30th anniversary All-SCAC squad in 2021. For two seasons, Hay coached defensive linemen and linebackers at Centre and was part of the staff that produced Centre's first Division III Playoff appearance and win in 2011.
"Adam Hay epitomized what it truly means to be a student athlete at Centre," said head football coach Andy Frye. "An outstanding leader as well as a great defensive linebacker, he models what the Centre College athletic hall of Fame represents. Centre football cannot  be any prouder of his being  selected in the class of 2023."
