Chris Morris, Class of 2011. Chris lettered for Centre men’s golf from 2007 to 2011 and capped off his collegiate career with an individual NCAA Championship in May 2011. He has held records for fewest strokes in one round, lowest score under par for one round, and was the Division III record holder for lowest score under par for four rounds.

A three-year team captain, Morris helped guide the Colonels to NCAA Tournament appearances in each of his junior and senior seasons, as they finished 13th in 2010 and seventh in 2011, the best postseason finish in the history of Centre men’s golf.

During Chris’s national championship season of 2011, he received a laundry list of awards. He won the Arnold Palmer Award for his tournament medalist performance at the NCAA Championships. He won the Jack Nicklaus Award, given to the best college golfer in each division. He was also one of five finalists for the Byron Nelson Award, given to the best college golfer regardless of division, impressive company for a Division III golfer.

After graduating from Centre, Chris moved to Nashville, where he currently serves as president of LandFund Partners, a farmland investment firm started in 2012 alongside Board of Trustees member John Farris. This firm has grown to over $250 million in assets under management. He has also served as the chairman of the Phoenix Club of Nashville, a non-profit organization serving underprivileged kids throughout the state of Tennessee. With all of this in mind, it should not come as a surprise that Chris was named to both the 30 under 30 and 40 under 40 lists for the city of Nashville.
