Jeff Floyd

Earned four varsity letters for Centre in both football and baseball.

In football, Floyd started at five different positions for the Colonels – quarterback, kicker, punter, cornerback, and safety.  As a sophomore, Jeff earned Second-Team All-Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference honors, and then as a junior and senior, registered a spot on the First-Team.  At the time of his graduation, Floyd held school records for highest punting average (42.8 yards) and longest punt (77 yards).

As a senior in the fall of 1997, Jeff earned All-South Region honors as a punter, and then was named an NCAA Division III All-American.  In 2006, as the SCAC revealed its 15th Anniversary Team, Jeff was selected as the punter on that prestigious squad. 

As the quarterback on that 1997 team, Jeff threw for 1,541 yards and 11 touchdowns.

On the baseball diamond, the native of Bardstown, Ky. captained the Colonels his final three seasons, and was a key component in some of Centre’s most potent offensive teams. Floyd still holds the single season record for doubles with (17, in 1997). At the time of his graduation, Jeff held Centre career records in both doubles and triples and he still ranks second all-time in runs in a single season and third all-time in stolen bases. As a pitcher, Floyd is third in Centre history with 199 strikeouts and is 9th all-time in the SCAC in strikeouts per nine innings.
