Her influence on women’s sports grew after she left Centre and began a teaching and coaching career that spanned more than three decades
After receiving a master’s degree from the University of Kentucky and completing her graduate work at Indiana University, Parrish taught physical education and coached all sports at Midway College until she retired in 1979
Received a merit award in 1973 from the Kentucky Association of Health, Physical Education, and Recreation
Vice President of this group during 1975-76
Shared her insights into expanding opportunities for women in sports with a larger audience by authoring a book entitled Outstanding Kentucky Women in Sports 1900-1968
In 1974, she was honored by her home community of Midway, which selected her Citizen of the Year
