Richard "Dick" Bourn lettered in football, basketball, baseball and track and field during his Centre College athletic career, becoming one of the few athletes who lettered in four separate varsity sports. Bourn was a two-way player on the 1930 football team that captured the Southern Intercollegiate Conference title. In addition to excelling at collegiate athletics, Bourn played semi-professional and professional baseball. From 1931-42, Bourn coached varsity football and basketball in four different Kentucky school systems and he began the football program at Taylor Country High School. He led both Somerset and Bellevue to conference titles.
