Thomas C. "Tom" Bryant was the Centre College men's basketball coach for 28 years and he retired in 1996 as the school's all-time winningest coach with 382 victories. Bryant led Centre to the NCAA Division III playoffs on nine occasions and twice guided the team to the Division III Final Four in 1978-79 and 1988-89. During Bryant's tenure, Centre dominated its conference, winning 15 championships, including 11 in a row from 1982-92. Bryant also served as Centre's director of athletics for 21 years. A former standout player at Miami of Ohio and highly successful prep coach in that state, Bryant is a member of the Ohio Coaches Hall of Fame. As a collegiate coach, Bryant was selected the Kodak South District's Coach of the Year eight times.
