    Football, Men's Track & Field
Our next inductee is Mark Green, Centre graduating class of 1989. Mark was a four-year letterman in both football and track & field and earned All-Conference honors in each sport. On the track, Mark was a co-captain in 1988 and the team captain in 1989. He won the Collegiate Athletic Conference Male Athlete of the Year award in 1986, 1987 and 1989 and was the conference champion in the 100m all four years.

As a football player, Mark was a member of some outstanding Centre teams that won conference titles and had numerous Hall of Famers that will be proud to welcome Mark into the fraternity today. Joe McDaniel’s teams of the late 1980s were known for their power running game, but Mark excelled at wide receiver alongside fellow Hall of Famer Keith Tarter. This year’s Hall of Fame class is full of record breakers in various ways, but Mark is the only inductee today with a truly unbreakable record. In 1988 against Sewanee, Mark hauled in a 99-yard touchdown catch from fellow Hall of Famer Kelly Sandidge, which will be in the Centre College and NCAA record book forever. As a senior in 1988-89, Mark won the Briscoe Inman Memorial Award given to the most outstanding senior student-athlete with the highest GPA.
